Privacy and support

Dictionary lookup requires a signed-in account and an internet connection. The app does not offer a downloadable dictionary.

Messaging is an early, invitation-only service. Messages and images are stored by our hosting provider and protected by access controls. Messaging is not end-to-end encrypted. Authorized operators can access stored content for operating the service and handling reports.

AI translation is off by default. When enabled, only text you choose to translate is sent to the configured provider. Private messages are not used as an Egartho training corpus.

Writing help learns from you in two ways. The words you send are counted in your account so your own words are suggested first; this history is included in your data export and deleted with your account. Next-word suggestions are learned only on this device from your own sent messages, are never uploaded, and are cleared when you sign out or in Settings. Spell-check runs on this device; words you keep stay here and are cleared the same way.

You can block users and report a user from a conversation. A report shares the reported account, the conversation and the reason you provide with the operator, who answers within 24 hours and may read that conversation to act on it.

Your name and photo are visible only to your contacts, to members of groups you are in, and to anyone you have a pending contact request with. Your settings and app language are visible only to you.

Sign in and open Settings → Account to export your data or delete your account. Deletion removes your account, your messages and your photos. Your direct chats are deleted for both people, including the other person's messages in them. In group chats your messages are removed and the group stays for its other members. Deletion cannot be undone. Recipients may already have copied content outside Egartho.

Backups may retain deleted data until the configured retention period expires. The operator must publish the final retention period and legal contact before inviting external users.
